Cochin Shipyard Workmen 2019 Junior Technical Assistant Education Details

Pass in three year Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education securing minimum of 60% of marks or equivalent.

Graduate with Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent.

Pass in SSLC and Training in Fire Fighting  or recognised Fire Fighting course in the Armed Forces or Training in Fire Watch / Patrol from State Fire Fighting Force Valid First Aid Certificate.

Pass in SSLC and One year Diploma in Fire / Safety from a Government recognized institute.

Method of Selection

The Cochin Shipyard Workmen selection of the candidates shall be made on the basis of the Online Test/Written Examination and interview. The Cochin Shipyard Workmen Online Test/Written Examination will be conducted in English or Any Languages. All the eligible candidates who apply with the requisite fee and whose applications are received in time will be called for the Online test/ Written Examination, which will comprise the following.

The method of selection shall include Phase I, consisting of an Objective Type Online Test and Phase II consisting of Descriptive / Physical / Practical Test.

Exam Pattern for Cochin Shipyard Workmen 2019 Junior Technical Assistant

Detailed syllabus for Part A and Part B of Phase I Objective Type Test

Discipline wise merit lists shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by candidates in the Phase -I Objective type Online test. In case, same marks secured by more than one candidate, marks scored in the discipline part of the Objective type Online test shall be the basis of determining the order of merit list. In case of a tie thereafter, relative merit shall be decided based on seniority in age.

For the certificate verification prior to Phase-II (Descriptive/Physical/Practical Test), the candidates shall be short-listed in the ratio of 1:6 for each post based on the marks secured by the candidates in Phase –I Objective type Online test in the order of merit / reservation of posts.

Depending upon the number of online applications, the selection process shall be held at Kochi or at any other place in Kerala / Maharashtra.

The Phase I Objective type Online test shall consist of two parts General (Part A) and Trade/ Discipline related (Part B). Part A comprises of General Knowledge, General English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The pattern of the question paper, number of questions and allotment of marks is detailed under.

The candidate will be supplied carbonless O M R (Optical mark Reader) answer sheet consisting of two (2) copies the original copy and the duplicate copy below. Do not attempt to separate or displace them while answering without the carbon impression paper provided to the candidates. The candidate will be admitted to take the examination at the Centre specified in the Admission Certificate only and at no other Centre. The candidate has to indicate his response to each question by darkening the appropriate bubble with a Black Ball Point pen. No corrections with white fluid will be permitted.

Certificate Verification

In the examination hall, the call letter along with the candidate’s currently valid photo identity, in original, such as PAN Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Voter’s Card with photograph/Photo identity proof issued on original letter head by a Gazzetted Officer/People’s Representative or Identity Card issued by a recognised college/ University (valid in current year)/Aadhar card with a photograph/ Employee ID, should be submitted to the invigilator for verification.

Note: The candidate’s identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the call letter and in the Attendance List. If identity of the candidate is in doubt the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the Online Examination.

Note: Entry in the Compound of the Examination Centre with Mobile/Cell Phones, Tablets, Laptop, Electronic Gadgets etc., is strictly prohibited. A Candidate who is found breaching the abovesaid direction or found to be indulging in ‘unfair practices’, viz. copying or misconduct during the course of examination, using electronic gadgets or Mobile Phones, etc., tampering with Question and/or Answer Paper, influencing any person concerned with the Elimination Test or Written Examination or Viva-voce Test, will be debarred from appearing for Preliminary Examination (Elimination Test) or Main Written Examination or Viva-voce Test, as the case may be, for that Examination Process or for any number of years or permanently.

Merit List: Candidates qualifying the norms as prescribed in the advertisement will be called for Written Test / online test. Selection will be based on the marks secured in the Written Test / online test in the order of merit. Only those candidates who successfully complete the certificate verification will be allowed to attend the Phase-II (Descriptive/ Physical/ Practical test). A final merit list for the respective posts/ categories shall be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in both Phase I and Phase II tests put together.

CALL LETTER

Call letters shall not be sent to short-listed candidates by post. They shall be informed by E-mail/SMS/through CSL website www.cochinshipyard.com to download call letter. Schedule of the selection shall be intimated to the short-listed applicants through SMS/E-mail/CSL website

Answer Sheet: The Cochin Shipyard Workmen Candidate should hand over the OMR Answer Sheet personally to the Invigilator on duty before he/she leaves the Examination Hall. No candidate shall be allowed to go to Toilet / Urinal during the last 30 minutes of Examination. No candidate will be admitted to the Examination Hall 20 minutes after commencement of the examination. The candidate will be admitted to take the examination at the Centre specified in the Admission Certificate only and at no other Centre. We have gathered all the complete details of the test pattern.
