Scheme of Examination

The Indian Navy Officer will be selected on the basis of performance in the written/online test and no interview will be conducted.

The Exam Will be Written Objective Type.

The Exam Will be of 150 Marks/ Questions.

The Time Duration of Exam will be 150 Minutes.

Method of Process

The Indian Navy Officer selection of the candidates shall be made on the basis of the Online Test/Written Examination and interview. The Indian Navy Officer Online Test/Written Examination will be conducted in English or Any Languages. Indian Navy Officer 2019 Test Pattern

The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and of objective type.

Question Paper Will be Divided into 04 Parts and Each part will be of 25 Questions.

The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.

The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2.

Duration of question paper will be of one hour (60 minutes).

The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate.

Read Candidates for Important Instruction

Candidates Are Not Allowed To Carry Any Electronic/Mechanical Communication Device Including Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphone, Tablet Etc. Calculators, Books, Scale Or Drawing Instruments Are Not Allowed Inside The Examination Hall. The Commission Shall Not Be Responsible For Safe Custody Of Mobile Phones Etc.

And As Such Will Have No Liability In Case Of Loss Or Damage. No candidate shall be permitted to leave the Examination Hall until an hour has elapsed from the commencement of the examination nor during the last 30 minutes of the allotted time without submitting the Booklets.

Medical Standards

All candidates recommended by SSB will have to undergo medicals as per extant regulation. There is no relaxation in medical standard on any ground. SSB recommended candidates are required to undergo medical examination as applicable to their entry. Candidates of Pilot entry are required to undergo PABT (Pilot aptitude battery test) followed by Aviation medical examination.

INET Examination Centre.

All candidates, whose applications are received by due date, will be called for Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) to be conducted in Aug 19 at one of the INET centres as per their choice, subject to availability of slots at that centre. Call up letters cum Admit Card for online examination indicating date, time and place, which is scheduled during Aug 2019 would be required to be downloaded from the official website tentatively by second week of Jul 19. Only Electronic mode of communication will be used while contacting the candidates at all stages of selection

Note: Candidates will appear for the examination at an Examination Centre at his/her own risks and expenses and the Indian Navy Officer Board will not be responsible for any injury or losses etc. of any nature. No request for change of centre for Examination shall be entertained.

Answer Sheet: The Indian Navy Officer Candidate should hand over the OMR Answer Sheet personally to the Invigilator on duty before he/she leaves the Examination Hall. No candidate shall be allowed to go to Toilet / Urinal during the last 30 minutes of Examination. No candidate will be admitted to the Examination Hall 20 minutes after commencement of the examination. The candidate will be admitted to take the examination at the Centre specified in the Admission Certificate only and at no other Centre.


Only one application is to be filled by a candidate. Candidates who are eligible for more than one Branch/Cadre should mention their preferences in the application so as to be considered for other choices in case slots for SSBs in entries of their first choice are filled. Candidates will be shortlisted for SSB based on their INET rank and their preference of choice. However, if not shortlisted for the first preference you may be considered for alternate Branch/Cadre subject to availability of spare slots in SSB batches of that Branch/Cadre. Once shortlisted for a Branch/Cadre, subsequent stages of selection process (SSB, medicals & meriting) will be exclusively for that Branch/Cadre only. No equivalent stream of BE/ B.Tech other than that mentioned in para 2 above will be considered valid for selection process at any stage
